What is a character? Character is your possession that defines you. Everyone has this question at some point in their life - How I got this character? I have an answer.
Kindness, cruelty, helping tendency etc are all parameters that collectively add up to character. Every human being has all these parameters. Initial values of these parameters are based on what you get assigned from your parents and God. By your experience and actions, these values change. Thus altering your character.
Generally everything is progressive in nature. This rule holds for these parameters as well. Experience determines the rate at which these parameters grow or shrink. For example, you donate some amount of money to those in need and they praise you from their heart. By this experience, parameters like kindness and helping tendency grows fast while cruelty and the like slows a bit.
